The barrage of fresh fruit continues! It is still summer (or at least it is pretending to be in London) and as such we celebrate the myriad of beautiful fruit that blooms as this time of year!
The Strawberry has long been entwined in the story of Chocolate. From Valentine's Day to sensual evenings in the boudoir, Chocolate and Strawberries have been a love affair from day one.
Put them together in a Cake in a Mug and things really do start to heat up ;)

Strawberries are the first fruit to ripen in the spring. Although they are technically berries, unlike other berries that have seeds on the inside, strawberries host over 200 seeds on their skin! Talk about wearing your heart on your sleeve ;)
Native Americans were eating Strawberries way before Europeans landed in North America. Ancient Romans used the berries to treat everything from depression to fever and sore throats. The perfect temperature for strawberry plants is between 55 and 78 degrees (Fahrenheit) and their flavour is influenced by weather, variety, and ripeness when harvested.
